BeforeAfterDevonport
The brief. A sloping back section into a native garden, a kwila deck and a lawn for the kids.
The brief: somewhere to sit at 6pm with a view, and grass the kids could actually use. We terraced the slope with timber, planted flax, muehlenbeckia and coprosma that survive the salt wind, and built the deck to catch the last of the sun.

BeforeAfterTakapuna
The brief. A bare new-build section: paving, a retaining wall, coastal planting and irrigation.
A new build with builders' rubble for a garden. We put in the drainage first, then a block wall, pavers with a proper base, and planting on a controller so it would survive the first summer without anyone thinking about it.

BeforeAfterBirkenhead
The brief. A tired 1970s garden pulled out: new paths, a vege garden, a planting plan the owners keep.

BeforeAfterMairangi Bay
The brief. A steep front section with a block retaining wall, steps, native planting and a gravel path.
A section you couldn't walk up. An engineered block wall, concrete steps, and a path that gets you to the front door without ropes. Planted for low maintenance and no mowing.
